Our Story so far…
Galaxy United Football Club (GUFC) is a Women’s National Premier League (WNPL) Football (soccer) Club established in 2016 to fulfill the need for a talent player pathway for girls in football across Geelong and the greater region.
Galaxy United Football Club (GUFC) prides itself on a strong club culture built on open communication, collaboration, wellness and high performance.
We are committed to building on our positive brand image by continuously strengthening our relationships with local community clubs in order to offer a talent pathway for our local players and provide an opportunity for our female footballers to play the game that they love at the highest amateur level in the state. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive club with players and coaches from varying socio-economic backgrounds and ethnicity.
Galaxy United FC has set the standard for Girls and Women’s football across the Greater Geelong region and aspires to lift the bar in relation to coaching, provision of elite learning environments, embraced by a welcoming culture, with a reputation for innovation and excitement.
We allow our coaches and players to be involved in their sport at a level that was previously logistically difficult to achieve in our regions. In our first year we have provided local players access to the pathway to becoming the Matilda’s of tomorrow with several players invited to attend trials for the Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City development squads. We have also had a Senior player represent Australia as a Young Matilda in the recent 2016 Asean Football Federation Women’s Championships held in Myanmar and a player from Ocean Grove recently selected for the Australian School Girls team, representing Australia on a tour of the United Kingdom.
Success at Galaxy is defined on and off the field by being the best person you can be. Living by our values and delivering the most professional player pathway in the Region is core to the realisation of our vision ‘Where aspiring Matilda’s come to play and shine.’
